Submitted by drea on Tue, 06/09/2009 - 15:27
The document below is the handout I created for a hands-on class exploring four hand-sewing techniques based on 14th century extant garments found at Herjolfsnes, Greenland.
The handout contains step-by-step photo instructions for four stitch techniques found on these garments including:
1. Long Seam Finishing
2. Edge Treatment with Stab Stitching
3. Edge Treatment with Filler Threads
4. Gore Placement
Please feel free to download as either a 6.33 MB file size with higher resolution pictures or a 1.27 MB version with lower resolution pictures.
I appreciate any feedback you wish to provide.
